Rutland County Councillor
From 7 May 2015 until 2 June 2017, I was a Rutland County Councillor, representing the ward where I live, which includes the villages of Ketton, Tixover and Tinwell, as well as Barrowden.
My responsibilities in this role included chairing the Audit & Risk Committee, which oversaw the internal and external audit functions as well as corporate governance and risk management for the Council.
This role was very rewarding and gave me a much greater appreciation of the work that goes on at Rutland County Council and in particular the quality of the people who serve our County.
I made the difficult decision to stand down as a Rutland County Councillor when I was offered the opportunity to take on the role of Group Finance Director at Frontier Agriculture Ltd because I recognised how much time I would need to devote to my new role. However, I would consider standing as a Rutland County Councillor in the future when my career is less demanding.
